72-inch coverage
Vehicles with extra-wide or aggressively contoured one-piece hoods often need a 72-inch PPF roll to achieve a clean, seamless installation. The added width gives installers the material needed to cover oversized hoods and roofs without a visible center seam.
Standard PPF rolls are typically 60 inches wide. When a panel's width or diagonal pull exceeds that working area, using XL material helps avoid excessive stretching that can thin the film and reduce its protective integrity.
Common XL applications
Its broad clamshell hood can extend beyond standard roll coverage.
The wide, deeply contoured hood benefits from extra material for clean wrapped edges.
A wide front fascia and stretched hood dimensions demand greater working width.
Its low, ultra-wide hood calls for controlled coverage without distortion.
Large electric-truck and SUV front panels can exceed standard 60-inch coverage.
Wide clamshell hoods on vehicles such as the Aston Martin DB11 and Jaguar F-Type are natural XL applications.
Premium adds extra tack and three times more stretch for complex curves. Standard XL provides a wider 72-inch roll for larger panels.
No adhesive promoter is required. Use the clear-film tack solution: 15 oz of 70% IPA with 17 oz of hot distilled water.
Yes. Fine scratches and light swirl marks in the topcoat can disappear with heat or direct sunlight.
Warranty coverage requires an approved dealer purchase, authorized installation, and registration. Public retail purchases do not include a dealer warranty.
