Clean the glass thoroughly
Use a razor blade to remove contamination from the windshield, then scrub the glass thoroughly with 70% IPA.
Remove both sheets and apply solution
Remove BOTH the cap sheet and the backing sheet before placing the film on the windshield. Apply tint gel solution to the glass—not standard slip solution. Apply a little regular slip solution to the adhesive side of the Windshield PPF.
Position and lubricate the film
Place the film on the windshield, then spray regular slip solution onto the outward-facing surface of the PPF to lubricate it for the squeegee.
First hard-squeegee pass
Use a hard squeegee in a British flag pattern: work from the center outward in vertical, horizontal, and diagonal strokes. Continue working the gel toward the edges until all of it is expelled.
Lubricate and squeegee again
Apply more regular slip solution to the outside of the film. Make a second hard-squeegee pass using strong, even pressure and the same center-out British flag pattern to push out any remaining gel.
Trim the perimeter precisely
Carefully trim the PPF around the entire perimeter of the glass with a fresh, extremely sharp blade. Replace the blade halfway around so the edge stays sharp throughout the cut.
