Installation Instructions

Slip Solution
Mix 2 ml Seventh Generation Free & Clear dish soap with 1.5 L unfiltered tap water. Or use 1–1.5 ml baby shampoo. Do not use distilled water for slip.

Tack Solution
Mix 235–295 ml (8–10 fl oz) of 70% IPA with 1 L distilled water. Use distilled water only, not RO water. Never use 99.9% alcohol. If you cannot get 70%, use distilled water alone for now.

Measure with a syringe. Start with less soap and test a small area on every job. Gloss colors stick less than matte. Add soap a little at a time; extra alcohol will not fix too much soap.

Prepare The Panel

Wash and clay the car. Wipe the panel and edges with alcohol.
Wipe the main panel with P&S Triple S or a similar detail spray. Keep it off the edges; use alcohol only there.
Check with the back of your hand. The panel should feel smooth.

Fit The Film

Leave 2–3 extra inches at the edges when cutting. Stretch the film like a vinyl wrap.
Spray slip on the panel and the back of the film as you peel the liner.
Pull the whole panel smooth and stretch the corners before using the squeegee. Lift the film as little as possible.
If lifting takes too much force, add a little more soap to the slip.

Heat And Wrap The Edges

After fitting the panel, heat recesses, stretched areas, and tension points to about 96–100°C (205–212°F). Check the film surface with a thermometer.
Keep the heat gun back and move slowly. Take about 30 seconds to reach temperature. Do not burn the film.
Leave extra film at the edges. Let the panel dry fully and wait at least 4–5 hours, or until the next day, before heating and wrapping the edges.
Work on nearby panels while the first ones dry. Flush edges with tack solution or distilled water to clear trapped soap.

Fix Glue Lines

Faint lines you cannot feel will usually fade within two weeks in the sun.
For a raised glue line, use equal parts distilled water and 70% IPA to soften the glue. This also helps when lifting film later to clean dirt underneath.
