New Car Protection in Colorado Springs: What to Do in the First 30 Days

The best time to protect a car is before Colorado Springs gets its first shot at it. New paint is as good as it will ever be — every week of gravel roads, chip-seal highways, and altitude UV works against the finish film and coatings would have preserved.

The first-30-days sequence

• Week 1 — PPF on the impact zones (front bumper, hood, fenders, mirrors). New paint needs no correction, which also makes this the cheapest install the car will ever get.
• Week 1–2 — Ceramic coating over paint and film. One prep, one cure, full-body defense.
• Week 2 — Window tint to your legal limit (27% fronts in Colorado), ceramic film for real heat rejection.
• Ongoing — pH-neutral hand washes only; skip tunnel washes entirely.

Dealer add-ons vs professional installs

Dealer "paint protection packages" are usually a $200 sealant sold for $1,200 on the finance sheet. The professional equivalent — real film, real coating, installed by a certified shop with a registered warranty — often costs the same or less and is verifiable: ULTRASHIELD installs are registered with CARFAX, so your protection is on the vehicle's permanent record, not just the sales contract.

Colorado is rock-chip country. Chip-seal highways, gravel shoulders, and winter cinders mean the front of every vehicle in Colorado Springs gets peppered constantly — and at elevation, UV is measurably stronger, fading paint and interiors faster than sea-level owners expect. It's the combination that gets you: physical impacts opening the paint, sun working on everything else.
