How to Choose a PPF, Tint & Ceramic Shop in Kailua-Kona (Checklist)

Film and coatings are only as good as the hands installing them — the same roll of premium film can come out flawless or full of lifted edges depending on the shop. Here's how to tell before paying, not after.

The checklist

• Manufacturer certification — trained, audited, and able to register manufacturer-backed warranties.
• Their own recent work, up close — edges, corners, sensor cutouts on vehicles like yours.
• Named panels and wrapped edges on the PPF quote — "full front" without detail means shortcuts.
• The film/coating brand and series in writing on the invoice.
• A warranty you can verify yourself — ULTRASHIELD installs are CARFAX-registered and checkable on our warranty lookup, no phone calls.
• A clean, dedicated install bay (dust is the enemy of every install).
• Prep philosophy for coatings — correction hours listed, not "coating over whatever's there."
• A straight answer to "what happens if an edge lifts?" — pros have a redo policy, not excuses.

Red flags

Quotes wildly below every other shop in Kailua-Kona (the corner being cut is on your car), "lifetime warranties" with no manufacturer behind them, claims that ceramic coating stops rock chips (it doesn't — that's film's job), and pressure to book today for a "special price." Craftsmen have backlogs, not countdown timers.

Every shop in the ULTRASHIELD network below is certified, trained on SHIELD film, STORM ceramic, and SHADOW tint, and registers every install with CARFAX automatically.
